My Late 85 Courier Supercab Longbed

Hi guys,

Thought I'd better start my construction thread !!

Heres the truck a few days after I got it !! I had already started a little work on it before these were taken ,,







Not to bad as I only paid $300au for it !!

List of planed mods ..

*Complete bag set supplied by Air Ride Australia.
*Custom 4 Link made by Air Ride.
*May use a shorter diff from an earlier model Mazda as it a few inches narrower.
*Full bag setup made to lay on 20's with 2 tanks, 2 compressors and slam bags.
*Dakota Digital, Digital ride hight setup.
*Raise the bed of the tub to just above notches so I can mount all hardware under bed and keep the flat base/empty tub.
*4x4 Tub and Guards and front bumper
*Mazda Chrome grill.
*2600i boldge bonnet.
*Holden V6 3.8l Conversion from V6 conversions. (stayin Manual)
*Dual pipes to just infront of rear wheels.
*Shave all bar door handles. (also keeping all lights)
*2 PAK flattened paint in Black and Red.
*Mildly customized interior,
*And of cause a decent doof doof !!.

Make it into a long bed using a 4x4 singlecab bed

I'll update here with heaps of pics and info as mods are being done to keep everyone up to date..

So let it begin .........

I organized a set of 20's for it but the place I was getting them from let me down as they quoted me a price then tried to hit me up for more when I went to pay !! so I told them to stick em !!

I've since grabbed a cheap set of 18" rims from a mate to throw on till I organize another set of 20's... Anythings better then the crap that was on it when I got it LOL

I'll post a pic of the new wheels ASAP..

I got a little bored late last night and decided to do a little photoshop work on the truck !!

The wheels are the 18" I was talkin about above !!

Looks alright hay ? Got a ways to go before it even gets to this
point in real life !! hehe..

Sounds like you have some pretty good things in store for this truck. When does the bagging begin? And keep us updated with lots of pics.

The baggin will begin around the 20th of this month !! so not long now ....

OK, Quick update

Some new parts arrived today..

New Tailgate
New Tailgate handle
New Mazda bonnet with boldge
New Mazda chrome grill
New front clear blinkers
New Head lights
New Tail lights with chrome trim

Oh! and the $6000 cheque I've been waiting for !!! Chassis mods and bags here we come !!!!

Another update !!

Should be placing my order with Air Ride on Friday ! Cant wait !!

Heres a pic with a few of the new parts installed !! I also bodgied up the front bar so it looks a little better till I organize the new one !!

Nice looking truck. To bad it would cost a fortune to send the old bonnet and grille back to the states.

And yeah your right !!! The bonnet / hood would be the killer though !! The rest wouldn't be to much to send over !!

You could always just get the light surrounds and grill, it's 3 separate parts to make up the grill not 1 piece like the mazda one !!! and you could just weld a lip onto your bonnet !!!

I've seen guys here just cut the lip off to make my old bonnet shape fit the Mazda grill soo...

Just let me know if your interested !! I can also put the right connector on the corner markers / blinkers for you so they will plug straight into your wiring as the Ford and Mazda plugs are back the front from each other... One has Male - Female and the other has Female - Male !!

Will the all amber Courier marker lights fit the Mazda grille? I'm not a real big fan of the clear/amber Mazda lights or the all clears. I'd be interested if they will fit the Mazda grille.
