i need your help

if there are any oldschool hot rodders on this site... im doing the 'open door by key' mod on my dawg and seem to have caught a glitch... anyone have any info on this mod, how its done, tricks or tips? i would greatly appreciate any help

cut n bend the handle rod, make sure the latch is in unlocked position. Remove interior lock rod and throw it away.

got fed up with it tonight, im just gonna take the whole latch assy. off of the donor truck and start from scratch tomorrow...
