the mazdas engine has seen better days and im wanting to swap it out. im looking for all the help advice and whatnot that i can get, but dont try to get me to change my mind. im taking out the E.F.I. 2.6 auto tranny and swaping in a carburated 2.2. manual tranny. its just what id rather have, im looking for a very SIMPLE clean look with as little wires and emission stuff as possible. i want to run a weber carb and pacesetter header and gm 1 wire alternator. i want to completely strip the engine compartment and start fresh with a new wireing harness. my ?'s

-can i make my own wireing harness?
-what all will i need to wire up? i.e. (ign. coil, alternator, starter)
-how do i wire up these things?
-what else do i need to complete this swap?

thanks in advance for any help, pics are always good too

lol...

Anyhoo, why go to a 2.2 crapper, when you can get a 2.0 FE3 that gives more power? Straight bolt in and everything!

the reason im putting the 2.2 in is because it was free, and i like the idea that its still a mazda b motor. as for the hood its custom made thanks for the compliment. anyone else got any more in put on how i will wire this thing up?

bump... once i strip out the 2.6 i have no clue how to wire up the 2.2! (ignition, alternator, starter and whatnot)

bump bump!!! id help you if i could but ive never swapped a motor before. im not sure but maybe use the old carb harness or look into a painless set up if they have em. im not sure tho cuz ive never done a swapp. good luck dude and take lots of pics when your pulling it. id like to see whats all gotta be done.

I would make your own harness. These trucks are really simple. If you are just running a carb'd motor, use a painless universal harness. Well worth the money.
