ive finally been able to start on the rebuild of my mazda. the motor blew almost 2 years ago and we havent had enough room in the shop to work on it until now. so last week i started tearing into it to strip it down to the frame. these pics are only after the first day of work and since then the cab has been removed and its a bare frame with the suspension still on. ive also made a lot more room in the shop and will get current pics up tomorrow.

my plans include but not limited to:
2" stock floor bd
shaved firewall and sheetmetaled engine compartment
12a rotary
redo suspension with 4-link in back
paint-grabber green
possibly 3" chop top with quartered roof(looking into price quotes on cutting glass before i start into that)
heres a pic from 3 years ago

all the suspension is real nasty and hacked up by previous owner back when i bought it from him in pieces. those fittings are only to get a schrader valve in there. it sucks running an engine driven compressor when you motor blows up.

i got it the rest of the way stripped down and made the first cut. i should be gettin some metal soon and start on the stock floor bd. i am using the original frame rails and sleeve it with 2x3 to shorten it. i still have to put it up on stands and get it level and plumb bob it to check for straightness. if i have problems with that, i have a line on a frame table to do the work.
here is what it looked like as of yesterday.

WOW! i never realized or even thought a truck could lay frame let alone rocker and still have a leaf spring and not be 4-linked, i never knew you could do that. thats pretty cool in a way

I'm glad to see you working on it again! I should be starting in on mine this fall.
