thats why i took out my memphis subs out of my truck, the box was a bit too big and i was gettin tired of being crammed in the cab, so now im gonna sell the memphis with the box and get myself some low profiles
(the memphis fit pretty nice in my black truck but the black truck had bucket seats)

I originally wanted a 10" between my seats, and I couldn't find a prefabbed one that would fit,and the 2 shops I went to said they couldn't make a box fit due to the dimensions between the seats because it was too narrow and I didn't want to go to 8" subs. Now that I think of it, 8's would have been better off in the end.

Mine still doesn't go all the way back either. It's as far back as it can go without a shallow mount sub though. My seat is curved in the back so I just cut the hole for it where that curve is. I can't find my plans for it right now but I'll measure it later. The only hard part was the bottom in the back. Having a table router is the only real way to make the curve in the back air tight. It also comes in handy for the sides.

But the back was 13" wide by 18"tall. In the lower back It comes out 4" then down 5" and out another 4 1/2"

The top is 2 1/2 deep. Then I put those pieces together and measured the front.

I cut the front angle off the top and bottom piece on my table saw and routered the edges so the front would slide in part way for a good seal.

After I attached the front I traced the sides and cut them out. Again I used the router so the sides would slide in part way. If you don't have a router an ass load of this stuff called Carpenters Goop will work. It'll just be harder to make it square.

Here's a side view. This is how it looked after my cat decided it made a good scratching post! I let the carpet adhesive dry over night and went to get it in the morning and found it like this lol. I was pissed!

I have two 8s in my truck, with a bodydrop, and the seats go all the way back. It hits harder than a single 10. Competes with a single 12.

Do you have any pics? I'm still playing around with some ideas. Two 8's is one of them. lol I made 2 boxes in a week. I might still make some changes.

Here it is.

And the seat back all the way.

No one knows whats in there (nice in shady areas). And I showed some guys up at Reso that didn't believe me.

Here's the one I built in my 88. It's a 10" Diamond Audio D3.

I like yours, but that probably wouldn't fit between the stock seats. Yours was actually one of the examples I used at the stereo shop when they said you can't put a 10 between the seats and I was like "I've SEEN it done...idiot."

twisted, that's a nice setup, but you've also got that extra room because the back of your seat is hollow.

I like it. kinda looks like what I had in mind. I'm just broke so I couldn't afford new subs. The JL was a basement dweller. Are those shallow mounts? Thanks for the pic!

Yeah they are Earthquake Shallow Mounts.

Actually, its not hollow. It only dips in about 1/2" from where the rest is. I only have 4.5" of room at the very bottom, and about 2.5" where the top of the box is. The box touches the seat and the subs fire into the foam. The subs are only 2" deep and they hardly fit int he box.

My bucket seats fit and go all the way back as well, and they have a thicker back.
