Got the head and intake back from the shop this week. Sorry, for the delay. I have never done engine work on a vehicle before and I'm learning as I go. But I did manage to get the head back on the truck today. maybe I will get some more done in a day or two.

I have also been messing around with one of the z71 wheels. I need to finish the one and start on the rest. Hopefully a set of polished Z's will look nice enough to leave on the dawg.

Ok Guys, I'm in the middle of installing the weber. I have acouple questions on what these could be and what to do with some of them.

Ok, In this pic my middle finger is on a hose thats coming off the engine side of the intake and on the right is a black device with a hose coming off of it. Do I need these? Can I remove them and cap them?

Ok, In this pic I'm holding I think the gas lines? There is two. Is one a vent? also there is a little in/out thing that looks like a small fuel filter. Which one of the lines is in and out? I have a regulator and filter to put in line since i have a electric fuel pump.

Ok With the gas lines there is another hose along the side of them on the hose clips Do I need to vent this to the intake or what?

Thanks guys.

Ok so, Once I get one thing going another things craps out on me. I want to sell it and Then I dont want to give up, I dont know what I'm going to do. I just finished putting the top end back together last week and now this happens. I'm so upset. So Its burning coolant....It wasnt burning coolant before I decided to tear the head off and have it rebuilt. The intake was apart and so I decided to get the head done also. When Is it going to get fun????? sorry for the video quality, but I havent figured out how to change a VOB file to a mpeg file on our new camcorder. Here is an old digital camera. Note this video is right after startup.

check your oil to see if you are getting coolant in the oil, if yes then it your intake gasket is incorrectly placed or bad. But on the other hand if I am correct most mazdas smoke right after start up for a little while, I know mine does. It shouldn't be a head gasket cause you should notice steam coming from underneath the hood too.

Thos pictures where you were asking about the lines on the intake you can just plug those off. Not sure on the other I only had one supply line from the gas tank and the vent it is good to run that into the intake for emission control, but if you notice your having probs with the carb just plug them both. I vented mine into the intake and it ran like crap. Hope that helps and good luck

iT COULD ALSO BE LUBE FROM THE HEAD ASSEMBLY BURNING OFF, WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE? sorry bout caps. You can plug the all thos little ones, the one next to the fuel line was connected to the charcoal cannister and it drew the excess gas fumes out of the tank and burned them. I plugged mine and it ran fine, I also ran it to a vacuume and it runs fine, doesn't seem to matter
