Insurance paid me for the truck, minus the buy back. They said with it being as old as it is, it would have cost more to repair than replace it. I received 1600 after buying it back (even though it never left my driveway), and used that to source the parts I needed, and picked up a welder and air compressor to do the rebuild. No frame damage, the bumper ripped from the driver side mount that connects the bumper to the frame, and most everything else was cosmetic/body damage. I replaced the core support, and driver side inner fender and then the rest for the most part was bolt on or electrical...

I used it being parked due to the wreck as a period where I could do other stuff that I'd been wanting to do, but couldn't because I always needed to drive it for work, and the projects I wanted to do required more than a day or 2 for me to be able to complete whatever I was doing. So I used the opportunity to build what I call a legit flatbed compared to what it was before, I did the 3in rear frame z, changed the rear shocks to something with some load capability, raised the gas tank, completed what I wanted done for the rest of my engine bay wire tuck, and with needing new headlights I wanted something that could almost give off a stock feel and happened to come across quad rounds and thought I can make that work, and with effort got them done and was pleased to have something I'd never seen on another mazda before. But I was able to spend about 2 weeks total in my off time to do it and not need to be able to drive the truck right away... The headlights/grill that is. The rest of the rebuild spanned about 2 1/2 months, most afternoons and days off spent in the driveway doing work, our staring at it something how I was gonna get it done before I moved cross country...

So you have done an ABS delete on it? How has that worked out?

Well I got to drive the truck for the first time last night since the b2200 rear diff swap and abs delete. The abs never kicked in unless I got both tires spinning before and let off the gas then barely applying the brakes. I could feel it pulse at that point so the brakes still technically feel the same, they still act the same, I just won't feel the useless pulsing (abs never kept the rear from sliding out from under me before like its supposed to so what did it matter to have anyways). With the b2200 rear my truck would benefit from an rx8 6 speed trans, as first gear is so low its almost useless now, and having an extra gear past my current 5th would be nice, since in 5th at 80 by the speedo, I'm actually doing 70 real mph and the rpms are above 3500. An extra gear would actually be useful. I did price out an rx8 trans this morning when I got home, lowest I found was like $950. Maybe down the road I'll look at getting one...

What did you do to remove the abs? just take the sensor off? good deal with the 2200 axle tho!!

Brain box was pulled, and the abs actuator/solenoid that is mounted to the frame where the brake line drops to the axle was removed, and since the new pinon doesn't have a speed sensor like the 2.6 rear had when it was removed I didn't have to remove anything extra off the new rear in order to finish the abs delete. The wiring is still in place and I'll probably leave it for now, as its not connected to anything anymore.

Ok, I was finally awake during daylight to get a few crappy cell pix

"new" b2200 rear end with bag on axle mounts already welded on

Might be hard to see, but the now naked frame rail where the abs actuator/solenoid thing used to be
