body drop question

this misht be a stupid question dont bash on me.so i body dropped my truck 5 inches i know i have to cut the front frame horns am just not really sure about how to measure it and stuff like that. thanks guys.

I dont understand your question man. . . . Yes you have to drop the frame horns. . What else do you want to know? ? ?

My bodydrop is 3.25" . . . And it was a bitch to do the frame horns and get em in the right place. . I still dont think they are low enough. . still gotta drop em another 1/8". . But my recomendation would be to weld the front sides of the frame horns together with a piece of square tubing or somethin to keep the width right. . and lower em down. . you will have to have em 2" lower than the crossmember where the radiator sits. . Because stock, they sit exactly 3" above. .

But that raises another question. . Having such a large bodydrop, maybe you should jus remake that whole crossmember and stuff. . . where the frame horns sit. . Cuz you wont be able to fit your radiator back in with that crossmember there. . .

Ya. . maybe instead of cuttin the frame horns out like normal, you sould cut the whole crossmember out with the frame horns attached and drop the whole thing 5". . . idk though. .

i figure ill drop it 5 inches. just keeping them in the right place might be tricky. but dropping the whole cross member seems to sound best. ill mess around and figure something out.

You will need to drop the entire crossmember. Or better yet, make a new one. You are gonna have issues with your lower radiator hose also. Maybe if you left the crossmember where it is and dropped just the horns, the radioator hose would come out beneath the crosmember, LOL.

lol that sounds like a good idea. i guess ill go home cut it off and make me a new one. hope she turns out good
