how the truck looked up until 2 days ago when i started painting the cab.
thread post photo

the truck will eventually be all the flat green color. after thinking about it for a long time i decided to go with the army look. its been played out but i feel like i can but my on spin on the whole idea and make it something new. my idea is to make the truck look like an old bomber. i think when its all done it will look bad ass.

so i bought some rims from jenn0421 a few weeks ago and i finally got them painted. i painted them a dark metallic gray.

they started out white then i sand blasted them

here they are with paint on them.

here is what they look like up next to the truck.

now i just need to repaint the rims on the front of my truck and they will look badass.

i got the first two rims mounted on the truck. still working on the other two. i'm a little unsure about the color because of the metallic flake in the paint but i think it will just take some getting used to. they look a lot better than the when they were black.

is that the duplicolor rim and tire paint, the charcoal metallic or whatever they call it? is that what you used...?

looks goods, i think you should paint the wheels red

first time looking at your build. coming along nicely. a couple things......

1.you should notch your rear end until you can afford to bag it. this will give you a good ride until then. I have an old school c-notch (pic in my gallery) and it rides great with the smaller shocks I have
2.I like the paint/theme you're going with, but think you should use black lug nuts to blend in a little better
3.you can easily roll the fenders with a baseball bat. that's how I did mine by myself. just jack the truck up a little to fit the bat in and sart rolling it along the tire. if it gets too tight, lift the truck a little more. don't use the dricing method or this could happen. lol

what NOT to do

yeah i think thats the stuff. i looked at the wheels again today and they actually look a lot better than i originally thought. the rim on the drivers side has a lot of pitting from it being super rusty and i think thats what makes it look so weird but i'm going to put a different rim right there so that will help.

i'm planning on step notching the frame as soon as i get my bed and everything figured out and then i'll start adding air components little by little till its all there. i have it all planned out in my head. my bags and stuff should be here with in the next week or two.
i've rolled my fenders multiple times with a baseball bat but sense the fender is so far away from the tire it doesnt really work very well.

thats the same stuff i used on my AR rims on my jetta... taped off a lip to stay chrome and painted the rest with the gunmetal graphite or whatever it was called...
