It was originally a 2 piece drive shaft but I had this one made for $175 with a whole new tube and all new joints on it.
and I was always told it's called a drive shaft cage but not like it matters haha, I haven't decided how i'm going to sheet metal the bed floor so you might see the suspension or it might all be covered up.

right now I have the cab floor and firewall cut out and just last night I started cutting the pinch weld off the bottom which is taking forever to weld up cause it's such thin metal. I have pictures that i'll post later. I just bought a house a week ago so the truck progress will slow up for the next month until I get moved in then i'll pick up the pace. it takes a while when none of my friends wanna help so i'm stuck doing it all myself but atleast it gets done right.

Haven't got much accomplished but i have the firewall and tranny tunnel tacked into place just no recent pictures of it. Shitty news is that this last week one of my really good friends that I pay $100 a month to use his shop and tools said now hes gonna charge me $175 a month and I can't use any of his tools so sometime in the near future I guess I'll have to take my truck home cause I'm not gonna get screwed over.

thats shitty of your "buddy" .... does he need the space that bad or is he slow and just wanting to get whatever money he can where he can?? either way sucks.... and why can't you use his tools anymore? hate to see you come this far into this thing and have to stop working on it cause you dont have the space or tools.....

At least your not loosing your workspace man but its too bad to hear your loosing the tools you get to use. Good tools aren't cheap and for the last 4 years of my life i have spent A LOT of money compiling tools with lifetime warranty and i still find myself purchasing the odd tool every now and then. Hopefully you can come across some tools you need to finish your project

are you loosing a welder and all other power tools?

very impressive work i would hate to see this one come to a stop

its nice to see some bracing in that cab. i can't tell you how many projects i've seen without bracing. sucky of your 'really good friend.' doesn't sound like a really good friend to me.

There's 2 guys that own the shop and it's $500 a month for a 24" x 70" space, one of them who does body and paint work and the other does powdercoating. i'm not sure the whole reason on him not wanting me to use his tools because i've always put them back except for a few times. I had a face grinding shield then someone put thinner on the front of it and it ruined it so i've been using his and my 4" grinder quit working so I was using his but i just bought a new one. The only tools i'll need to buy are chop saw for cutting tubing, a bench vise and a bench grinder for at my house. They used my welder several times and haven't paid me a penny for gas or wire on it. I just didn't see why all of a sudden there doing this but I should have my truck drivealbe in 3-4 months and get to work on it at home which is convienent, just not as much space as i'd like.
