Ok So i got thinking about my bed on the truck tonight, the tires rub on the inside of the bed when its slammed
ive heard of a few ways to fix this but ive got no clue what im doing either path i take

option 1 - Roll The Pinch Weld , Flare The Fenders
option 2-Negative chamber (rear wheels)
option 3-narrow the rear axle

I Was wondering if anyone has done rear and front tire negative chamber combination, ive seen it on a reg cab b2200 in my neighbourhood about 4-5 years ago and the rear tires had negative chamber but im pretty sure it was juiced, but if i did both i think that would be sexy , how would i go about doing this whats the best option for me to do this

IRS

The only way that is correct to do this is to use a IRS rear end. A lot of people are using the 3rd gen. RX-7 rear end or the jag rear end because of the rear discs being right next to the differential housing. I would venture to say that people have tried other ways of destroying their truck in an attempt to get this result , but please don't ruin your ride. -Ed

id have to say i was one of them many guys that have DESTROYED my truck.. i used a 300zx rear end and it worked out great, and i had it set up for bags and could get it to pull the axles out with the lift it had,so if you can do the work man sweet ass i love a truck with a irs but let it be said it is a hard job to put one in and make it work out and look good with out redoing to whole rear frame

Well then i guess ill go with another option , how hard is it to shorten your axle ,so the tires come in closer to the middle of the bed or is that a problem since the wheels wont be lined up

dude, body metal is always the easiest route, you may end up regretting narrowing the diff imo

is your truck 5lug yet, if not you can put a toyota axle in it and there narrower then the mazda by i beleave 3"..or somewhere around that but then you have to be carefull not to have your rim hit the the frame.... but yes body is ez'er put 4x4's on it and then if you still need to flair out the top of the fenders just a little

and hey if you want to do something dont let us change your mind do what is right in your mind,do what you want you are the guy that will be driving it. if you want to put the irs in your truck do it manits cool as hell freankin out the old guys at a gas station ( oh my god is your truck broke why is your axle layed over like that)all im saying is put your mind to it and you can make it work

i don't care for camber. front or rear, so i'd go with a solid axle. plus - its MUCH simpler. go with a toyota axle. i personally have a '69 yota axle, and its about 4" narrower than factory mazda.

for you to narrow your mazda rearend, i don't think you'll be able to do it. you could have a driveline shop do it for you, because i bet you don't have a saw that can cut thru the axle shafts. they're hard as a mofo and dull the finest of saw blades. (i don't know if you can even cut them down, you might have to buy new shorter axles) plus you have to cut off your brake drum flanges and shorten the tubes, and, making sure they're square, competently weld them back up.

Im not sure what ones i want to use yet , im gunna try to come up with a way to mount both so i can switch them what ever i decide i want for th day i can throw them on, but the shorter axle does sound good but i want to keep 6 lug is it possible to get a shorter 6lug solid axle ??? 9preferably mazda so it will bolt right up i dont want to change to much to make this work but im not worried about it hitting the frame cuz im doing a full chasis build im starting to get into the positive side with my bank account after this horrible christmast holiday debt
