finally got another Mazda B-series beauty. well, i will start by showing what i got and how it looked when i got it last week.

edwalsh18   +1y
then i put some Titan rims and 255-35-18 tires on my baby

edwalsh18   +1y
HUGE difference in looks!!! oh but boy was it floating way up in the air!! so i threw on some 3" drop blocks and turned the torsion bars....

much, much better!!!! now i wanna drive everywhere. okay, now that i fed your hunger for pics i can introduce myself and my new baby.

ME-
my name is Ed and i am from Southern California, Moreno Valley to be exact. i love this damn B-series model and only this model. i am not too fond of anything else but Chevy's and an extended cab B-series 86-93. i dunno why, maybe its the body lines... just perfect! maybe its the cab/bed proportion, IMO they kind of resemble a 92-99 Silverado but smaller. I like the fact that there are a ton of different mods that can be done to these trucks that make each one unique and in their own way different from the rest depending on each owner's preferences. hehe i convinced my younger bro to get one too! and as we build our trucks which are the same body style, but we have different preferences, we will see just how different they can look.

My Truck-
its a used red '87 Mazda B2000 ex-cab with grey interior. i got it for $1,250 and i am satisfied with the price. its interior is in okay shape, seats were bad and few minor bad details but overall, great!! headliner and dash were in great condition. the motor will need work, its carb-ed and has exhaust leaks, and very small oil leak.

i have an idea of what i want to do with it but time will tell...

(here is my bro's)

ohhh, nice value , welcome to the bscene, good to have ya here, and yes we are pic obsessed!!

I would leave it just like that and drive it and enjoy it , pretty good shape.

Oh and by the way, you are 100% right these are some of the best proportioned , hence best lookin trucks ever, a shortbox was my very first vehicle, and I been obsessed scince, this truck is why I am a minitrucker and am known to friends and family who gave me the nickname mazdamandan
I have always wanted an ex cab I just never found one when I was lookin for another project B.

and you prolly already know all this, but mono leafs are way better esp. with blocks, I would put drop shocks in it and re-index the torsion bars too, happy truckin!!
Post a build thread as soon as ya start workin on it, best o' luck!

Oh yeah bumpstops suck when ya bottom out , I rolled static fer many years, I think I chipped a tooth once! potholes suck!

yeah thanks for the advice! i did search this site for a couple hours and found that bit of info on re-indexing the torsion bars so i did do that, i am riding on bump stops in the front for now. i left them so that i can tighten them and lift it a little if i need to. this setup is temporary until i can bag it. i am a weird kinda guy. i never just do things the same as anyone else, i have my own ideas. that makes things difficult and i am sure i dont always do things the best way but nevertheless...

for instance, i want to put bags, but not to lay frame necessarily, but rather to get over a speedbump or something and then get back down to a decent ride height. i would like to ride with the fenders just above the wheel, where it stands i would like to drop the rear a little more but i do want to be able to get some stuff in the bed at times. this is my daily driver and i want to use this truck whenever i need to. i might even pull a small trailer later with 1 or 2 quads. (will put a hitch that hides behind the license plate for that)

for now i will try to do alot of minor mods:

-swap mirrors for the smaller stock ones. preferably chrome
-get chrome; taillight trim, door handles, grille
-clear corners and blinkers
-tint windows
-air shocks in the back for trailer(temporary)

moderate mods:
-4 runner bumber
-headlight conversion (have a few in mind)
-taillight conversion (looking around at several)
-add power steering
-hidden hitch

bigger mods(later, after most of the rest is complete)
-airbags, f,b,s,s - 4-link

**if it is possible i would like to get a compressor mounted under hood and run off motor with a pulley, kind of like the a/c pump and even cooler if i could make it shut off when tanks full. i dont know too much about that yet but i will be looking into it - ANY COMMENTS, KNOWLEDGE ON THIS TOPIC PLEASE POST, THANKS!

- Neeper Titans 18's or 20's (not sure yet) this is in the "bigger mods" because not only will they cost a pretty penny like a bag setup but also if i decide to go with 20's i am sure i will need to be converting to 5 lug

- custom dash - interior

-here's another pic, i like pics too!!!

edc engine driven compressor, its done all the time , lots of info on here, though i am not hte expert on that, oh and an electric pressure switch regulates the pressure, ya lose hp that way too.
do the five lug fer sure , more wheel variety and performance brake kits etc etc.
Use the toy spindles up front better than drop spindles they dont push out the wheel, and swap the toy axle too its shorter which helps with wheel fitment too.
stick to 18s waaay less work and the proportions are better I think.
Check out my build thread called tubbin n dubbin fer details.
