nah im not having any troubles he just said to make sure i go hing and lower with the tube as in have one piece of tube welded in line with the top edge then make the next one in line with the lower edge so the chassis doesnt want to roll i.e if they were all at the top the bottom of the chassis would want to roll inwards\

loz at the chop shop is helping me with engineering

I understand that whenever you guys down under do any modifications to your vehicles, you have to go through an engineer. But how does that work? Do you have to pay them? How do you go about all of that?
con$truktive   +1y
yes it sux down here
what is done is u work out everything that u want to do to ur truck then ask an engineer what standard is needing to pass his certification rules so i had to pay $400 for an engineer to cum look at my truck
then work out a plan as im using chassistech notch kit due to it being so square to the chassis
i had to make fish plates underneath my notch along the bottom of my chassis
with a v shape off each end of the plates with a 1" flat at the ends & u cant weld completely across your chassis rail etc, for a bodydrop we need 835mm clearance from top of seat base to the roof lining where as my truck has 970mm which in inches its 5 1/4" BD is allowed
but yes at the end before registration u must get engineers paperwork stating all modification along with
documented photo gallery of all mods carried out which is then kept on file by engineer
its costs up to around $2000 for engineering in the end then u need a blueslip which is a roadworthy certificate
then pay another $500-700 for registration then were allowed to drive on the roads.

newer model trucks than 1988 have to have 100mm road clearance when airred out before 1988
is allowed 5mm off the ground also bumpstops are compulsary so we make then sit at desired road clearance
with bumpstops for rego then remove them for dragn/railing but if caught u can have ur truck red stickered for defects which have to be changed to within the standards before your red sticker can be removed if this happens & red sticker isnt fixed within 3mths your rego gets cancelled till all is fixed

hope that all makes sence to u guys haha
all minitruckers get raped by the police over here which sux

dang man i couldnt see haveing to pay to work on my truck man you guys are geting hosed
con$truktive   +1y
well its costs us $$$$$$$$$$$ to buy an engineers report to say our trucks are worthy
anywhere between $200 to $10,000 as u cant even have an aftermarket gearstick or wheels unless its all engineered by an RTA certified engineer............
but then u get police officers that know nothing ,that say no thats a defect then send you to the pits for a full inspection, sum engineers dont touch trucks due to their years of uni & knowledge to have sumbody
that needs a chest to pin it on........ "police" to say no good, 1 of my customers has spend about 3g on bodywork lots of sheetmetal work & framework in the bed etc. over a period of 4months it was at my shed
jus had his truck back 3days from the painters then took 3days off work to get his truck ready for a truck show called mini madness to then the night before leaving drive down the local car wash for a wash
as he finish then he drove out the driveway had the police pull him over n asked if it was modified his reply was yes they then made him follow them to the pits where their further inspected it, they defected him for
complete front bag set-up 2 be redone as they didnt like the angles which the bag plates were mounted , i also put a tacoma front on his hilux they defected him due to the lights werent ADR certified also said he had to put auto leveling as its compulsary here in aus. & then said get it re-engineered with a different engineer so now its waiting for my new shop then ill z the front of the fame, re-bag the front then make tube uppers new engine xmember & gearbox xmember then bodydrop it.........................
so yea its sux ass down here in aus for truckers............
my mate had to leave his truck at the pits/inspection station till he could trailer it home so it sat at the compound & he went to mini madness truckless, i near cried for him haha
