I pulled the radio since the pot for volume was staticy when adjusting volume and i noticed it had a 5 pin din connector on the back (unused)

Anyone happen to know if this is an audio out or audio in?

It'd be mighty nice if it was audio in, but I fail to see how it would function, given there doesnt appear to be any sort of selector for it.

If its audio out, is it line level out? If so I guess I can run radio via din to a separate amp that also has a 3.5mm jack, then the amp to the speakers. This would allow the stock radio to work just fine, but also still give me speaker control for my phone.

mostly trying to find a way to keep it stock looking with its funny lookin radio, but inject modern tunes inline. There looks to be plenty of space up under the dash for such things.

thanks ahead of time
