1.6 Miata engine swap

1.6 miata engine

looks good so far but will you have to make motor mounts or will it bolt up i have never researched this swap

i wont know till i get the engine in, i know for sure the bell housing has to be changed to the miata bell

i would leave miata tranny on it for better ratios unless its an auto.

i would like too, but idk if the tranys are the same length ot if the drive shaft would slide into the trans

the chunks on the truck,rx7,and miata are all the same but with different ratios. so you can put the tailshaft of the truck tranny on the miata tranny and throw it in there. then you will have much better sportier ratios. if you look on mazdatruckin.com you will find some threads about this tranny swappage.

do you know if i have to take the shift fork shafts out of the miata trans to get the tail shaft off,i know all thats contained in the b22oo trans, mut the miata trans has 2 tubes on the tail shaft the shifter shafts go through

Just a possabilty , but you can get your drive line moded so you can run the miata tranny to the b2200 rear end... Any drive line shop should be able to do this for a reasonable price.
