I had a 351W in my truck and I'm the only that did any tearing up of anything. These trucks are built pretty tough from factory and everybody is always underestimating their capability. It hold whatever you decide to sit down in...As for the mustang II suspension...Leave it where it's at...Just stay on the Mazda stuff

ok time to bring back an old thread. i have heard that i can use mustang motor mounts to put my a 302 in the truck. they told me i could use 6 cylinder and flip them and they will work? thanks guys.

i heard that a 85 yugo mount totally fits, from some guy's cousin twice once.

you can use a mustang mount, or any thing that bolts to your engine, but, you will have to make something that connects it to the frame, move the trans mount, hammer the firewall in a very specific place, and about 487 more steps.....

here is a complete write up, you must not have tried search :

anyway, the stock front end is fine, and the rear end is way tougher than you think, these trucks are light, lots O spin you wont break it

i heard that you dont have to hammer with the 302 a buddy of mine dropped his right in. its the 305 you have to hammer with.

From everything i have read and researched you can use the flipped mustang mounts and it bolts right in to your factory motor mounts just have to make the holes a little bit bigger.
