howdy y'all.
is this possible? i mean, you can swap alot of different engines in these awesome trucks, but i'm wondering if i can do the swap and not swap the computers and wiring. probably not, but was just wondering anyway! their both 2wd. the 87 has the date 10/86 on it, so not quite so sure what year it is, and it's an se-5 2000, which i think they stopped making in 86.

The swap can be done, but not without swapping computer and at least some of the harness to wire in the fuel injestion. 2600i is the best motor they put in these trucks from the factory. I say do it, especially if you have access to the whole donor truck.

Yes it can be done. I did the b2600i swap on my last truck (the blue and white one).
