Ok guys thank you. I will give this some time and probably just wait it out for a bit save some funds and do a v8 swap later on down the road. The truck does run well but has over 200k and has never been rebuilt. No smoke but i get paranoid considering the miles on it.

Ok so i was thinking... So is there any rear diff swaps for better fuel mileage and so on?

I'd love to see some figures on a diff swap for economy.
Most jap engines are designed to sit at about 3k at 100km (60something) but this engine is a bit different and I agree that it'd probably do well with less revs at cruise. Same goes for our 05 2.5td ford courier, sings too high for a td pushing/compressing all that air!

this post has totally pulled a 180.

now you want better fuel mileage????????????

no need for a rear swap, just get a larger diameter rear tire,.

the larger tire diameter will spin fewer times per mile, making it feel even slower, but, giving you better miles per gallon.

that is a complete contradiction to "i want an easy engine swap for performance".

Nah, if he can improve his economy he can save faster for another engine
Big picture bob lol

Okay so I'm reviving this ol thread cuz of a find I just came across. So there's a 13b out of a 2006 rx8 for $120.
Thing is its in need of repair somethin about getting the intake to close to water???? Idk I just saw that price and said wtf
I have had more recently considered the whole rotary idea and thought it'd be cool. But I need to know if its worth it for the money: rebuild cost and ability to swap into my 86 thanks as always guys and any rotary info in general would be cool I don't know much about these strange lil things!!!!

Really nobody? I thought it was a good deal but okay.

Time to break out the defibrillator!
CLEAR!

okay so the reason I'm bringing this up is because I'm having another decision problem and I like to see everyone's opinions... So as many of u know I have talked about doing a blow thru turbo setup using the stock motor and a Weber carb. And I'm still for that idea but an old friend of mine recently acquired access to a fe3 and all the wiring/ecu, all that shit. So my question for you is in your opinion which route should I go? I'm starting to get money again and so I think maybe if I make up my mind I can get this going by summer...

Thank you guys and I'm sorry for being such an indecisive bastard!

ive always loved the idea of an fe3 swap. not too serious and a decent, gas efficient, better running motor. plus theres always options to turbo it and its more cost efficient to modify one of those verses one of our standard motors as our motors would take 10 grand to hit 120mph. but some may be in the swap for serious power, sum for fuel efficiency, and some just to show it off. so consider your reasoning to swap motors as u decide on what motor to use. id love to read another kia swap thread tho.
