The truck is a rolling chassis, i was thinking about putting a chevy 350 in it, or gonna put a ford 5.0 motor in it which would save me the best gas? what are my options or should i go back to a 4 cyl?

if you are concerned about fuel then I wouldn't put in a V8. A Ford 3.0 V6 can give you the best of both worlds, increased power and decent enough fuel economy.

The stock engines at 100% are pretty good on gas, but keeping them at 100% is easier said than done (I'm talking carb, vacuum lines, etc.) They are also gutless on the highway.

The money you would save on gas you will burn up on tires. Or at least I would.

I vote for gas guzzler, but I'm partial to V8's!

If you do a V8, do a rear axle swap also.......the stock unit won't last anyway, plus you could pick up some mpg with a higher gear.........you don't need a 4 something gear with a V8, unless your taking it to the track!
