please help motor swap info b2200

Hi I have an 88 cab plus and want more power. My motor is tired so I thought about doing a v6 swap or maybe a v8. my ? is this. What are the motors that will go in without to much crazy modifing ? I dont mind the work or some cutting and making brackets just dont want it to become a 3 yr project. I have seen all kinds 350 302 miata s 2000 kia stuff like that. so whats the best way to go? would like to keep my rear end so not sure if that would hold up to a v8 was thinking a 4.3 vortec might be cool. are there any kits that are for sale ? thanks for any help

I'm not GM guy but mounts for 350 should be same for 4.3! But double check! Now 302 is easy! Use 86_93 mustang convertible mounts! Put left on right n vice versa! Drill 2 holes for mounts n stock n 2000 or 2200 frame perches! Motor will sit in fine! Use angle n tubing to make mount for Tranny! Good luck!

what about rear end will it hold up ? what about radiator ? I will have a drive shaft made to fit ? I think another guy said ill have to make the tunnel a bit taller so it will still lay out all the way on bags. is that right ?

Not sure mine wasnt bagged! But was lowered! I used stock rear! But would change! Look into maverick rear!1" narrower I think! I also used stock radiator with electric fans! Worked fine for me! I drove it ever day! St time it all I had! Have to make drive shaft! This is NOT a cheap project! But I would consider it again! I loved it !

95-99 kia sportage is a dohc 2.0 around 180hp, and is a kia badged mazda engine, same series block as the trucks, and is a direct bolt in. would need a electric fuel pump, engine wire harness and ecu. And it will bolt to your trans, and uses the same clutch...
