dropping crossmebers to clear oil pan

I was wondering if any of you have used the 4x4 crossmember to clear the oilpan when doing an engine swap because i saw a 4x4 mazda the other day and it seemms like the front crossmember becomes flat to clear thefront diff so if any of you could confirm before i go in a huntfor one? Thanks
