Those that did V8 swaps in B2200's that have power steering, Did you mount the Mazda PS pump onto the donor engine -or- did you just use the Ford/Chevy ps pump that came with the motor and fabricate hoses?
What did you do? How's it working out?

Also, What alternator are you using with this swap? Original mazda alt -or- ford/chevy alt?
Is it difficult to wire in? Is everybody just using 1-wire alternators?

My plan is to use a carbed 302 HO motor. Not sure if the PS pump from the v8 mustang is too much for the mazda rack, pinion, & hoses? Not sure how a oem alternator would tie into mazda wiring?

THANKS FOR ANY INFO!

Welcome to the forum!

Use the pump from the donor engine. It's much easier to have hoses made, than to deal with rednecking a mismatched pump to the motor.

As for the alternator, there are usually only three connections you have to make(sometimes only two), so you also want to use what came on the engine. They are very easy to wire in, if you have the schematic for the donor vehicle. Get the schematic and I'll help you out... or maybe someone else will beat me to it.

Thanks.
When I get further along on this project, I'll pipe up if I have questions. Just doing lots of research before I launch. Found some dead links but also found lots of helpful stuff too. I will get a build thread going when pull the trigger.

I can't answer the PS part because I have manual steering, but I did the 302 swap in my truck and used the alternator from the 302 (it came from a 96' F150). I found the schematic for the F150 online and wired into the stock Mazda wiring harness. Pretty easy.
