i am trying to instal a rotary engine in my pick up the engine came from a 85 gsl se 13 b with manual trany i instal the transmition support to the stock place in the front i cant lower the engine the direction rod is there , my question is do you cut the o

I have an 86, so my oil pan may be different, but my engine is sitting higher in my truck then the stock motor (if you measure the crank height). I am using stock rear sump pan and my steering rod is about 1/8" away from my pan. The rod does not move up and down with suspension, just forward and back with steering about 2-3", the furthest back is when steering is straight.
