hello its me again i got a few questions
1# on the water pump there is a golden brown pipe that is hooked up behind it has a spot where you would put a o ring on when you replace the water pump.. i believe i might have to replace.

2# um trying to figure out what could cause my engine to over heat.

3# is there a guide around how to install a weber 32/36.. im thinking of replacing it cause i know my old carb is giving me crap mileage..

now the story...
about month ago i drove from Alabama to Wisconsin and i still had water in my radiator it was on drop freezing weather yet so i never added antifreeze to it(plus i was broke for a week. well the water froze and stuff and i had to wait 3 days for the water to melt before i could start the engine and put antifreeze in there. well by that event my truck over heats and if it gets real hot it shoots antifreeze in the reservoir and from the pipe behind the water pump.... im thinking that its cracked the o-ring or the pipe since the o ring is rubber and could have been stretched aka busted tell me what you think guys

If I were u I would do a compression check on the cylinders to make sure the block is not cracked if that is good then try the other stuff just wouldn't want to dropping money into a motor that ain't any good not saying that is the case just giving u my opinion hope it helps

Overheating.I would start simple do a new thermostat, rad cap,and hoses, and flush the system.I want go into more but,if your waterpump is weak reduces flow, and would go simple before digging.I would suggest a new wp if lots of miles, and then do that O ring then and a tb kit while there.I used lime away to flush mine one bottle and does work fine.Check your compression, then go from that.

If you go as far as changing the water pump be sure to change the oil pump while in there. Also don't reuse timing belt.

sorry for the last response.. i changed the water pump before i did the trip i changed the timing belt before i did the trip and i dont havea theromostate in there i bought one but i figure that i caused the over heating... i can drive the truck short distance but again i seee antifreeze leaking from that pipe so i am thinking its causing the over heat because it wont stay in to cool the engine.. but i am trying to figure out the name of that pipe that connects to waterpump when i look for the o-ring it says its a heater pipe but i cant find.
