On this 83 B2000 with the2.0 liter four it has a brand new carb, good plugs, and repaired elctic wiring, but I cannot get it to idle, run smooth and be drivable. I know it needs new plug wires, and I need to fix an overheating issue, but I think that the kid that sold to my friend just slapped it on, took his money and , just disappeared.I have the Haynes manual but it says and shows very little in the details about carb and I was wondering if it has a large vacuum leak?

an easy way i learned was carb starter spray sprayed where the suspected leak was say at the bottom of the carb gasket if it acted like you gave it gas then you found the leak
think mazdatruckin has a vacum diagram too

Some use propane from an unlit torch to do similar.

Note: unlit torch, or take/upload photos !!!
