2.2 head on a 1.8

will the 2.2 head fit myford courier 1.8 and have any more power and will the tranny from a 1990 b22 fit a motor from a ford courier 1.8

no the head will not fit, the 1.8 courier/b2000 motor are an MA series block, while the 86 and up are F series blocks...as for the tranny, I mentioned to slammed83mazda that the trannies might interchange if you swap the bellhousings 'cause he is wanting to upgrade/swap trannies....but I can't be for certain...they used the same trannies in the early rx-7's & b2000's, so I'm thinking they will interchange, but also note, some of the trannys input shafts are 1/2" longer between models... take a gander at your tranny to see if it has any markings like MXX-X that would be a good indication that they may be interchangable.

the 2.0l head is completely interchangable though.. the 2.2l is a completely different engine..
