Well i pulled the timing cover off and the timing belt was loose as a goose. Seems like my tensioner was bad...

my 2.2 is at 305,000 km's and it runs like a top
and its been through Canadian winter of minus -40C* since new.

I'm sorry to say that if your oil light came on and you even drove it 10 seconds your engine could be toast. Go and buy a compression tester to begin with and see if you even have compression in the cylinders.

Maybe. . . .you dodged a meltdown. . . .

but I would still do a compression test, after you get the timing belt issues resolved.

Well seems like i seized the engine.

Heres the cam gear:

Luckily a friend of mine saved it.

Dropped in 4 quarts of oil let it sit for a couple days then stole the cam gear from the junkyard. I know I know, i was broke though. Now she runs like a top again

Glad you got it running
But don't steal from the junkyard!
They are the guys who have the old cars laying around just for guys like us.
Without those yards a lot of us would have trouble getting parts. Without
the money from sold car parts they cant order new wrecks for us
