i pie cut my four upper tubes close to the flange and closed the gab..it took the collector away from my auto tranny and works fine after i welded the pie cutting then i didnt have to cut my tranny to shit..but thats my input

notching the tranny doesnot harm the tranny itself like he said its dead space i know i have had to do this on my old truck but i never thought of pie cutting and bending them tha is a better idea

I dont have a pic but I took a hunk of 1" round rod and used it to flaten the tubes where they where touching, mainly because i had all ready painted the transmission and didnt want to redo it. seams like it runs fine. didnt think about pie cutting it but every one comes up with their own way.
