Thanks for schooling me on Tuning the Weber carb!

To tune the carb to idle properly i will be adjusting the lower screw correct?

Thanks again for all your quick replies and patience

yes, the lower idle "speed" screw and not the idle mixture screw.

FYI, the mixture screw should be about 1.5 turns out from seated to start with. Then once the truck is warm, adjust the mixture screw for best idle speed/quality in park with the screw as far in as possible. As in a lean mix is better than a rich mix and turning the screw in represents a leaner mixture.

"yes, the lower idle "speed" screw and not the idle mixture screw"

the idle mixture screw is the lower screw correct? sorry that just confused me a little

Upon startup with new changes my truck did not blow any colors from the exhaust and before with all EGR equipment, factory carb, factory exhaust manifold it blew a little blue when it was cold but i have also changed the PCV while swapping in the new carb. Would it be possible the PCV was stuck open and excess oil was entering the intake manifold and being burned in the engine?

Very possible (oil getting in intake).

Hey Linn you wouldnt happen to know anything about placement of a fuel pressure regulator ?
Now is it installed right after the 2 lines come to one on the straight? right before the carburetor?(1)
on the line with the inline check valve, before or after the inline check? (2)
on the line without the inline check valve(3)

can the upper soft lines be shortened for a cleaner look as drawn in MS paint?
can the check valve or whatever that is inline can be located further back? is the placement of the
FPR a few inches from the carb on the single line fine?

thanks!

Thanks Linn!

The line with what seams to be a check valve heads down to one of the 3 hard lines running to the fuel tank. The one hard line ran to the vapor canister and the other 2 run to the carb. I don't understand why what seams to be a return and a feed merge into one line before entering the carb. Do you think there would be a problem if the fpr was on the single line right before entering the carb rather than further back on the line with out the inline check.

Don't know if this helps but...

Of the 3 metal lines running to the gas tank, (1) is open and used to go to the vapor canister. (2) is the small return line going from the fuel pump to the tank. (3) is the larger supply line from the tank to the fuel pump. Then there is the line from the fuel pump to the carb. Since this pic was taken I have moved the fuel filter from the location in the pic to between the fuel pump and the carb. I am not running a fuel pressure regulator and it runs just fine using the 32/36 Weber.

Am including the following as proof (but mostly just cause I really like the video LOL).

Hope all this helps in getting yours dialed in.
