timing questions and vaccum line

I got a timing light and I checked my timing and it is sitting on the last mark. The one all the way on the right side. What vaccum line is the vacum advance? Location or maybe a pic or it? I checked the timing with it on so it might be off? My questions is when i take the dist. out, do i turn it toward the front of the truck or to the firewall? I am thinking 1 tooth should work, maybe 2. It idles at 2300 rpms right now. Maybe this will help so it shuts off when i turn the key and not hesitate and such.
