Alright so I rebuilt this 2.2. I sent it to the machine shop to have it hot tanked to make sure the head and block was ok. They ripped all the freeze plugs out which I know is standard procedure but my bottom end gasket set did not come with this one freeze plug. Its right above where the oil filter mounts. its just over a 1/2 inch or 13.50 or so mm. Ive gone to 3 dealers and they are all worthless.
I have done some searching and I found that some are tapping the hole and threading a plug into it. Thats all fine and dandy but what about the metal shavings? Do ya think the filter will catch all that crap or should i just keep lookin for the freeze plug?

Thanks guys I appreciate it!

i would try looking some more befor drilling it out and tapping it,but if it comes to this..take an air gun to the oil jacket and keep air in it as you drill it out the air should help keep some of the scrap bits from getting in but you will still need to do a flush to help get more out..you dont want all that getting to the filter and cluging it up
