ALTERNATOR ISSUES

hey i was woundering is there a alternator relay....i bought a new alternator and when i run my truck it runs fine but when i turn it off and attempet to turn it on after its dead..lights and all work not enough power to turn it over to start...its a 93 automatic...i heard they have an inhibitor switch... but i havent hear about this? any help would be great

no idea about the inhibitor switch, I've always just done a swap and run on mine. It sounds like you have a drain somewhere in your system. To find the circuit you will need to take each fuse out and run an ammeter through it to see where you are facing a drain when the truck is off. Check your cig lighter first as that can cause a drain, or your stereo. these have been most common in my searches for one.
