i recent bought me a an 88 b2200. i just did a tune up on it with plugs, wires, cap and rotor. it idles a little rough at idles but runs pretty good once going down the road. it also blows what looks to be black smoke, which makes me think its running rich. On my first tank of gas i got under 200 miles on the tank, which im hoping this thing gets better gas mileage than that. anyone have an idea on what could be causing it to smoke? As far as the as the second tank im at 150 miles at a 1/2 tank, so i think the tune up helped a lot

Remove the choke assembly. Makes it a bit rougher to start, but at least you can rule it out. During the summer months it won't be bad, starting in the winter however may be a bit tougher.

You could also possibly replace the element inside the choke, I'm not sure though...been a while for me.
