are you sure that your fuel pump is pumping fuel to the carb?

Maybe start with your fuel filter?

I have a friend who is having close to the same trouble. Difference is, his truck runs perfect! But his filter only shows about 1/4 inch of fuel in it. He thought it was the fuel pump, so he bought a new one, and still the same thing. Again, it runs perfect!

I am having the same prob with my truck will start but won't rev just bogs replaced pump filter and tried different carb but still same issue. Pump is pumping but sight glass has little or no gas in it so adjusted the float still nothing going to try electric pump and cross my fingers.

I know this is an old post but thought I'd chime in. Mine was doing the same thing. Turned out to be a hole in the rubber fuel line right above the passenger rear tire. Mice had chewed on it. Maybe yous is cracked or mice made it into your truck as well.
