Make sure the EGR valve (if you have one) is not stuck open.

Make sure the two Weber idle jets are not clogged up (one on passenger side is the primary, one on driver's is secondary idle jet.

Cusser, Did you rejet your Weber? Just curious.

That's a good question. My Weber 32/36 DGEV idle jets have been 52 and 45 for several years. When I first got the Weber, I still had issues; those turned out to be due to an intermittent ignition pickup and coil in the distributor. But my mechanic had reported that something was definitely bad with my carb and/or ECM, so I got the Weber. He may have been mistaken in his diagnosis, it turned out, so my original carb may still be OK.

Anyway, before the ignition stuff, I called the Weber supplier and reported I was still having issues, even with the idle mix turned out 2.5 turns, so he sent out larger idle jets.

But I ended up using the originally supplied 52 and 45 idle jets, and not the larger 60 and 50 idle jets sent later by the supplier (those sizes are what the Weber chart listed). All my other jets were as supplied by Redline Weber.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna pop the bowl cover off mine real soon so i can finish dialing it in. I'm getting just short of 20mpg but I have an off idle stumble and its still running rich. I think I can get it up over the 20mpg mark with a little work. And, with the fuel prices like they are even spending $100 in tuning would pay for itself real quick.

I too was having issues with tuning My Weber 32/32 DGEV. I bought two of them used, one a guy was having problems with and the other came off a B that they were scrapping and had sat for foreeeeeeeeeeever.

I made a decent one out of the two, I only drive less than a miles to work and sometimes do a little errand running but my gas mileage stank and I felt that it ran really rich.

There has been a lot of talk weather or not a fuel pressure regulator helps on the Mazdas some say yes others no I read that Webers like low fuel pressure the older ones under 2psi and some sites say 4psi wtf. I think the stock Mazda fuel pump puts out like 3.5psi? If it will help get my mileage back I'm game, I found this one on ebay,

Jrock had that push to turn one from Mr. Gasket that almost caught his truck on fire and then the second one when dialed all the way down would still show two psi on the gauge Chinese junk I say.

After the install the truck idled a little better maybe but no difference in mileage, looks cool in the engine comp though. Next check the jetting, the idle jets were 50 for the primary and 45 secondary the mains were 190 primary 200 secondary. Weber recommends 140 primary 140 secondary. I put a 140 in the primary and a 145 in the secondary. Truck seems to run way better and no gas smell when decelerating or low rpm driving.
