Engine won't start

Hello all. I have a 5 speed 1992 Mazda B2200 2.2L 4 banger. I purchased it used in 1993 with 21, 000 miles on it and it now has 186,000. I recently replaced my head gasket and now I can not get the truck to start. It will turn over, but will not start. It started and ran fine, other than the symptons from the blown head gasket, prior to my taking it down to replace the head gasket. I have performed this procedure once before on the truck and the previous time I had no problem getting it to start when I put it back together. I have checked the timing and it is set properly. Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated.

Verify spark at the plugs.
Verify spark order / distributor wiring
Verify cam / crank alignment
Verify all connections for integrity.
Verify fuel delivery.

Have you tried direct fuel feeding through the carb?
