Gotta get this figured out tonight because it goes in for exhaust tomorrow. Newly installed weber never driven the truck and the idle is CRAZY high. There is no tension on throttle linkage and it is completely closed. The weber instructions tell you to adjust the 2 screws on the side but when i do the truck just starts to sputter. I have seen the tuning guide but need to get this figured out!

Thanks in advance

can the electronic choke be stuck open? How can i clarify?

The choke could be stuck open, try opening and closing the choke plate and see if it makes a difference.

thanks for the quick reply
i actually noticed there is a secondary screw underneath the electric choice that adjusts the other portion of the linkage and that has lowered my idle

still have to tune it once the exhaust is done and its on the road but at least i have this solved

sorry for getting excited

thanks again

I had to buy an aftermarket throttle return spring for my Weber, the supplied one was way too weak.

Yup, I had to add a second spring on this carb and on my old Mazda. I had the throttle stick wide open in a Caddy I used to have... not a good feeling at all. 70 mph and gaining in a 55 zone and coming up on a stop sign. I had both feet standing on the brake, my ass wasn't even touching the seat. I thought I was going to have to go for nuetral and let it blow. It did end up stopping just short of the stop sign. That's a HAIRY situation that wouldn't wish on anyone, well, almost anyone. lol
