2.6 FI to 2.2 swap. is it doable?

ive been searching for a mazda made 2.6l engine for a long time now and i havent found anything for less than $1400. i have found a couple 2.2l engines and i was wondering if it would bolt up? any info would be great. thanks a lot

If your in Victoria canada or anywhere close there is a good 2.6FI at wade's auti wrecking, still in a b2600 4X4 with tranny and transfer case, not sure how much they want for it though

its not a direct swap. You will need differrnt motor mounts as they are in different places between the two engine. The end of the driveshaft is also different depending on what transmission you have.

I have a 4X4 ext cab. does the bell housing and all that hook up? i can do the motor mounts. Which wiring harness and ECU would I use?

Nah Im in georgia which is awful for 2.6l engines cause its so hot.
