hi i got my 88 b2200 a few months ago with a hand full of problems. . . so far it has a new/ timing belt,tensioner, water-pump, radiator, thermostat,hoses, head shave,valve job, full head gasket job, all new vacuum lines, full tune up,,,,, it runes like a champ, iv been a forklift mechanic for 4 years and been wrenching my life.....i have no idea why it still wants to overheat..... im gettin a little pissd .....iv done alot more to my B but any help guys would fukn ROCK!!! thanks

did you have the head pressure checked for cracks?

have you tried bypassing the heater core? see if that helps or not, might be plugged. you mentioned head shave and gaskets so am thinking you had the head machined down already? radiator cap can cause it also if it is bad...

also check your rad hoses, u mite think "what can happen to them" but if they old and soft, they rot from the inside out. and it mite be sucking them together closing them and not letting no water flow, and making it run hot or even over heat,, even if they look good from the outside.. feel them you should not be able to pinch them totally closed with your fingers. if you can replace them, also check your stat it mite not be opening or closing right...and let us know if it fixes your issue, hope it helps,.. ya i had the head check'd/ hoses, cad, and stat all good.....bypassing the heater core??? dosent water only cycle threw it when the heater is switchd on???....the radiator was clogged from sittn for 5 years after it blew the rearend and tweekers FU#Kd it up.... thats why everything has now been gone threw and replaced
