smoking? fresh rebuilt motor???

motor has been rebuilt top to bottom. all seals replaced, bored cylinders, new oversize pistons, new...everything. shop assembled the valvetrain and installed pistons to con rods along with putting the rings on before i assembled the block. my truck smokes like crazy, not sure if its because i put seafoam in the gas (i drove for a good couple hours and it still smokes crazy). also i have to disconnect the vacuum from the egr valve for it to stay running, idles like crap but while accelerating its fine. tried cleaning it out today and connected the line while running and when i did it died out. tried starting after and it ran like crap. i ASSUME its not rings/HG/valves being that a shop did all that. anything else it could be?



*forgot to add that i got rid of those 3 exhaust tubes running back to the intake(think they're referred to as PAIRS?). should i not have done that if i still have everything else on?

black smoke? white smoke?..blue smoke?

dirty white?? brown i guess. no loss/lack of power but the idle does dance

well...whte smoke usually denotes coolant burning....i personally dont know alot about these mazda engines...i went a different direction when i got mine...but im sure one of the other guys on here will chime in with whats really going on.

have you changed the oil since its been rebuilt?

seafoam was to stabilize the gas since it was sitting for a while. and yes new oil was used after rebuilding. it hasnt been broken in yet so ill change once more after that

no suggestions? guess i gotta rip apart the block again :/

Seafoam smokes when burnt. It really smokes when there is carbon build up. Possibly in your exhaust manifold or other things you may have reused.

found out it was the pcv valve lol. stupid me didnt even think of checking that. no more smoking but now an exhaust leak im trying to fix
