Problem is that my engine stays WAY TOO COLD! After the 12 valve head swap and the Turbo EFI swap, It never gets above 150 degrees in town or 120 degrees on the highway! And Mega squirt is not happy with this at all. Its constantly running fuel enrichment because it thinks its cold. Its not the T-stat changed it twice. The first one was stuck open from a knuckle headed move i made. Shizzle happens.. Only thing done different was i installed a radiator out of a First Gen Turbo MX6.

Could be an ecu problem if it thinks its too cold. Just a thought

Good thought but It is definitely cold. pulled over and used a infrared heat gun on the radiator and t stat neck. Putting card board in between the radiator heats it up.

I did this on mine a few years ago. Now I just have a 192/195F thermostat, fine also in Arizona summer.

If you're running megasquirt, then just adjust the warmup enrichment tables so they don't add fuel at your current 'normal' running temperatures, by adjusting the values in the table.

Good idea, i have been so flustered i have not thought of that.

^ this.

A properly functioning, correct temp thermostat, will warm your engine, regardless of improved radiator.

I had the same problem when I installed my 2-row, auto trans rad, in my 5 speed truck. The new T-stat I installed at the same time, was defective, opening too soon. I installed a new, new T-stat, and all is well. Warms right up, and stays warm.
