Hey friends,

First post here in the forum. Just purchased a busted up B2200 from a feller who kinda fucked me but oh well. I'm having issues with my weber 32/36 carb. I want to rebuild it but don't know what size jets it needs and can't find a tag anywhere on the carb. Also, I have a leak in my gas tank. Where's the best place to find a replacement (with filter and pump) for cheap, or a good fix for the leak that's less expensive?

Welcome Phreak(when)see!
Now your gonna have to start posting with more frequency!

You mentioned that there is a pump in the tank.......do you have an auto trans truck?
If the tank is leaking, you might want to have a look inside of it also.......they are known to rust on the inside and therefore can transfer/pump the rust particles up to the carb......regardless if the pump is in the tank or on the pass. side of the cylinder head.
This could be the issue with the carb also......believe it or not, the rust particles WILL go right through the fuel filter......and I have pictures to prove that!

Some think it is easier to drop the gas tank......it's not! Just unbolt the bed, disconnect the fuel filler tube & fuel filler door cable release if your truck has one, then disconnect the tail lights and set the bed off and out of the way.......doesn't take long to do this and then you can pull the sender out of the top of the tank and have a look inside to see if it's rusty......you can also replace the leaky tank much easier this way as well.......here's a few pics of when I did one of mine.

Hate to thread jack but I have a Weber issue and was hoping someone could help me with it! Just bought a NEW 32/36 and the truck is doing the same thing as the old carb. Luckily I traded the old one to a buddy who practically paid well over half for mine so I know nothin was wrong with it and he's completely satisfied with the deal. But my problem is that I can drive it fine at city street speeds but it jerks and cut out when i get on it and try to hit highway speeds. My thoughts are maybe the stock pump cant keep up with the Weber. Anyone else had this issue? Second thought is maybe somethings wrong with the pickup in the tank. Haven't had much time to mess with it so I'm tryna get a good idea b4 i waste time dign in the wrong direction. Thanks!

Keep in mind, there are several different tanks for these trucks.......depending on whether you have a short bed, long bed, cab plus, regular cab........so order the one you need for your style of truck.

The Weber 32/36 has no problem keeping the B2200 truck to full speed (at least up to 90mph) with the stock fuel pump and no pressure regulator. And mine's a Cab Plus with cross-bed tool box with stuff in it, extra weight. I'm thinking fuel flow is the issue, clogged filter, clogged fuel intake "sock", rust in the tank.

My own tank is rust free still after 24 years, I inspected it, even got an inspection photo. But I'm in Arizona, and not an uncommon issue with these trucks.

Just put a fuel pressure reg on mine today because I thought the truck was running rich and getting maybe 18-20 MPG. Well now with the FPR(Fuel Pressure Reg), I cant go over 45 MPH! tried to open the regulator to full open and still same prob. Turned the rich/lean mix srew to maybe lean it out some and could not go over 30MPH.
So just wondering if you done the Carb set up and lean best idle adjustment? Helped me out a shit ton to get my truck drivable after the carb swap. here's the link
Be rippin that POS FPR out my engine bay in the mornin and goin through all the steps to set the lean best idle again.
Hope this helps in someone.

have you checked for leaks around the carb an intake?get some carb cleaner an spray around the carb an the intake if you have a leak it will make your truck stall.an spray it every where on the carb an under the intake real good.also see if you have a vacuum leak.
