I am working on a 92 b2200 and am trying to figure out why it does'nt have any top end. Will the the fuel pressure cause it to do that? I put a weber 32/36 dgev and need some help.It will tach about 2500 rpms an then it just loses all its get up an go.Any help will be welcome.

I've had Weber on my B2200 about 6 years now, fine. Mechanical fuel pump, no fuel pressure regulator. Have you repalced your fuel filter? Sounds like fuel starvation under big load.

what would you think i should do change the filter an blow out the fuel lines?

I'd do the filter first, easy.

did the filter an blew out the lines an it still does the same thing.

we started working on my brothers truck this morning and I decided to try putting my hand over the top of the carb an it started running a little better,so I tried it a couple more times and it started running fine, WHAT DID I DO?

Aha !!! That sounds like you've got a vacuum leak, most likely under the Weber or the Weber adapters, common with these Webers. Use sealant such as Permatex Aviation on all adapter gaskets, and torque correctly, use blue Loctite. I'm runing gaskets made from rubberized sheet gasket from O'Reillys on mine. I had re-used the original gaskets a few times, but then got a vacuum leak, and made my own gaskets rather than order from NY or California.

When you put your hand over the carb throat you decrease the amount of air getting in that way (as some is sneaking in under the carb) and approximates correct air-fuel ratio.

Try using aerosol starting fluid under the carb as its running, see if that affects the idle, another way to tell.

It has a plastic spacer under it and has a wire running to it do I need to remove it? Next time I go over there i'll check for a vacuum leak. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!!!!

If you have a Weber carb on the truck, then remove that stock heater plate that has the red wire coming out of it.......you don't need that anymore.

when i put my hand over the top of the carb it quit, but the more i did it my brother said it ran better.after awhile it started doing the same thing again. any ideas?
