I just had the oil light start to come on when the truck warms up and the light flickers. after the truck gets hot it stays on at idle? Any one have any advice..the stick shows full and i am wondering is there anyway tool to check the oil pressure.

You can screw a mechanincal gauge in where the pressure sender is. Or add a pressure gauge to your dash. Or buy a replacement sender and try that.

I hope its not the oil pump.the pump is in the front bottom of the engine it slides over the crank shaft to power it. you'll have to drop the oil pan to get to the oil screen.

This just started happening in my 92 b2200. I just rebuilt the engine last summer. I thought maybe it was the filter so I changed that and then I thought it was too thin of oil because I had 5w 30 in it so I changed to 10w 40 but it still comes on when the truck is hot and at idle. I'm going to hook up a gauge to it tomorrow and see what the pressure really is. I hope it's just the sending unit and not the pump.

Could be the electrical connection is bad!Try removing that and sand paper it clean and clean the connector 1st bc a bad hook up can cause a faulty ground creating a flickery (if that is word) warning light.Go simple before getting all wound around about something that may be simple. And yes on the oil press sender close to the oil filter.I have seen oil press senders blow oil out causing this(not mazda stuff tho).
