There is oil leaking from what I think is some kind of sensor.

This is a view from underneath the truck looking up. The green arrow is where the leak is coming from. I think it is some kind of sensor.
The blue arrow is the direction of the alternator, which the wire joins with another bundle of wires going to the alternator.
This is on the passenger side of the engine.

I would like to know what that part is. And what I can do to fix that leak. Just some FYI, I got the oil changed by the shop the day before and this leak just showed up today. Which gets me thinking that they may have done something they shouldn't have or its just coincidence. Im not sure

Here is a closer view:

I think that's the oil pressure switch but I could be wrong.

I think you are right. I did some more research. Does it usually leak if it goes bad?
mazdaron   +1y
There cheep and do go bad . Just don't over tighten it. Good luck.

Thanks I appreciate it!

That's definitely the oil pressure switch (although many parts stores carry them with a different name - I can't recall the name at the moment...). As stated above, they're cheap, buy a new one, and don't overtighten it when you install it.

Yep! I tell other members about the oil pressure switch/sender all the time when they have a oil leak they can't locate........when you drive the truck it can shoot a very fine misty spray out of it and the wind from driving will blow it everywhere!
It is really a fairly common thing for these to get some age on them and start to leak between the metal housing and the Bakelite plastic insulator (or whatever kind of brown/black material it is) or even at the riveted-on electrical tab at the end of it. I've had a old Pontiac that leaked from one and a Chevy truck, so it ain't just a Mazda thing!

I just installed the oil pressure switch yesterday in the 2.6 I have just installed in my other B2600i truck.

Does the wire slide off? I tried to remove the wire but it did not come off so easily and I did not want to break it without knowing how it came off. Thanks

It should slide off, it's a slide on deal but squeeze the body of it at the same time anyway, that'll help.
If you break it, don't worry, just buy a blade connector (female) and replace it on the end of the wire, all good. (cut off old, crimp on new)
Rg's right, super cheap to buy, fairly generic and you'll be a happy dude when you're done especially when the missus gets you a beer for being such a top bloke.

Rant:
Oil pressure SWITCH. It's just that, oil there = off, oil not = on but it's too late BOOM. lol.
Don't know why they ever went away from Oil PRESSURE GAUGE.
They're a diaphragm and as such the diaphragm gives out and leaks oil (because the back of the diaphragm is to atmosphere), as Earl said they can actually spray out.
I witnessed this on a 1961 Morris Minor a month or so ago, it was PISSING out onto the wheel arch!!!!
They were SO SO SO lucky I was there and wanted a look at the engine... and then to be humored by turning it on. (because I wanted to know WHY there was so much oil in there, which they thought was "a little more than usual but don't worry she always leaks")
