My 1993 B2200 makes a loud ticking noise when you start it after it has set for a while. I have had other mazdas in the past that have ticked for a few seconds but mine does it for prolly at least 5 minutes and it is way louder than I have heard. Any ideas or any fixes you guys can think of would be really helpful. thanks

Sounds like a lifter. I always put a qt of Lucas oil in mine every oil change. May not be the best or only solution.

Sounds like the classic lifter tick.
Try chowe's idea, can't hurt.
Or you can swap em out for solid lifters... there is a nice "how to" thread on here somewhere.

thanks for the advice guys i will give that a shot.....if that doesnt work i will try finding a new set of lifters

Do you change your oil often ? Diry oil/sludge will plug these little lifters up, or the rocker arms are worn, loosing oil pressure, not getting enough pressure to the lfters to keep them pumped up.
