Hello all. I have a 1992 b2200 with the feedback carb on it that im trying to diagnose a problem. It just passed CA emissions so it cant be too out of whack. Checked compression and got ~150psi across the board. Just put new cap, plugs, wires and a coil as it was all pretty crusty looking. So that leaves the carb as the likely suspect. Here is what happens:

Acceleration is good
Just off idle at all speeds there is a pretty bad stumble that gets worse as it heats up. It doesnt really happen when its cold. Basically, if I am under load it seems ok. Cruising down the road with the throttle barely cracked, it doesnt like it.

Since I have a couple years before it needs to be tested again Im seriously considering just buying a weber to eliminate all the feedback nonsense. I have been reading here today a little and seems like I need to start maybe with the egr valve and a couple screen deals under the cat??

I really need to go buy a service manual for this to start tracing and identifying vacuum line spaghetti under the air cleaner if I intend to ditch the feed back carb in favor for a simple weber. HELP!!

If you've got the means for a weber... do it!!
It's an upgrade so you're not spending money just for the hell of it.

I posted up a link somewhere for diagrams for our carbs.
There was "diaphragm" in the post somewhere so that'll probably bring it up on a search

well I ordered a weber today.

Im still into figuring out why this stumble is occurring. I went to check the M/C solenoid dwell and at idle (850 rpm) it was reading 5.5%- ~20%??? So I then removed the roll pin to access the mixture screw and without messing with it I cannot get the dwell meter to read anything? Its a cheapo from autozone so I may just take it back. I cant select 4 cyl..it just tells me to double the reading on the 8 cyl scale

Is there a way to measure dwell with just a multi-meter??

Dwell on a multi-meter?
Not that I know of.

Congrats on the weber order
