so pretty much im stumped on this wiring. i dont have an engine in the truck at the moment. but wanted to work on other things till i get my motor finished. i wanted to hook up my stereo/ gauges and other electrical accessories. but when i turn the key over there is no power to anything, no interior lights, nothing on the cluster comes on. not a peer. what all needs to be plugged in to run it. i checked all fuses.

The battery!
LOL.......I'm assuming you do have that hooked up!
If your negative battery cable is all stock, it should have a good ground to the passenger fender and doesn't need to have the end that grounds the engine in place for running the lights and stuff.
There is a under hood fuse block near the battery location.......make sure those are good (3 of them in there I believe) and the 80 amp main fuse is BOLTED in, so don't think you can pull it out......the other two you can.

Also check your earth strap, feel along it if it's insulated to check for "soft/empty" spots.
