does 89 b2200 water pump have oring.....?

Hello, I rebuilding my engine and I cant remenber if the water pump had a rubber oring installed or not. I have a oring from the rebuild kit but I dont see anywhere to put it, even the book says to install the oring...... anyone know plz help.

Some of the water pumps used an O-ring instead of a gasket.......if your pump uses an O-ring, then it will have a groove to lay it into, all along the face of the pump where it mates to the block. If your pump has no groove, then you need to use the gasket it came with.

The new water pumps will come with either a gasket or an O-ring and the O-ring pump will be machined to use the O-ring.
