The black wire is the one going to the stud on the alternator, and goes through the 80 amp fuse before connecting to the battery. It should always read battery voltage.
The other two go to the plastic plug that connects to the alternator.
The white/red does go through the 30 amp fuse before connecting to the battery. This should always read battery voltage also.
The white/black wire goes to the charge bulb in the instrument cluster. This is the excite wire for the alternator. It should only read voltage with the key in the "on" position. If no voltage is present in this wire, at the alternator plug, with the key on, the alternator just free-spins, and will never charge. The bulb has to be good for this one to work properly.
